Created for the 2023 Threads Challenge, Falling into Winter, Lucille is more than a coat—it’s a story stitched from memory and seasonal beauty. Inspired by the transition from autumn to winter, it features boucle, mohair knit, hand-sewn embellishments, and a satin lining printed with a painting by my son, Reese. From vintage pearls to a hidden hood, every detail carries meaning. This garment was created for me—but it ended up winning the category “Most Holistic Interpretation”, and quietly honoring a moment I’ll never forget.
